Your professional journey

I started my journey in the education sector in 2018, beginning in business development before moving into student recruitment, where I continue to work today. During this time, I have worked with two pathway providers and am now with the University of Birmingham. Fortunately, I have continued to manage the same region throughout my career — the MENA region.

Your local market expertise

Recruitment within my region is very unique, as it requires a strong understanding of different educational curriculums as well as awareness of the diverse cultures of both local and expatriate students, each of whom may have different motivations for studying abroad. The MENA region is large and includes many countries, each with its own interests, priorities, and student expectations.

Understanding students

Students in the MENA region are motivated to study abroad for several reasons, including better career prospects and employability, access to high-quality education with global recognition, and opportunities for personal development and international exposure.

Their decision-making journey is usually influenced by multiple channels, including education agents, school counsellors, university websites and rankings, as well as parents and sponsors.

Personal strengths

Market knowledge and strategic thinking.

Purpose and motivation

Studying abroad is not only an academic choice — it is a major personal and family investment. Being able to guide students, answer their concerns, and help them see a clear path toward their future is the most rewarding part of the role.

Staying current and credible

I stay informed by following industry news and various professional platforms, as well as through regular engagement with agents, students, and schools.

Personal dimension

One of my biggest passions is raising my children and guiding them toward a successful future.
