Dr Abir Alharbi is a professor of computational mathematics – specifically in artificial intelligence (AI) and artificial neural networks – at King Saud University (KSU).
Abir Alharbi is a professor of computational mathematics – specifically in artificial intelligence (AI) and artificial neural networks – at King Saud University (KSU). She completed her PhD at the Florida Institute of Technology. Dr Alharbi began her career as a research fellow for the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in the centre of the study of complex systems. Later, she joined UCL London at the complex center for postdoctoral research. She also was a research visitor to the department of mathematics at the Maxwell Institution in Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Dr Alharbi has been working in academia for more than 20 years, taking on leadership roles at KSU, including assistant to the vice-president for planning and development, vice-chair of the department of mathematics, head of the vision realisation office and vice-head of the support unit for lecturers and demonstrators.
