Dr Abir Alharbi is a professor of computational mathematics – specifically in artificial intelligence (AI) and artificial neural networks – at King Saud University (KSU).
Prof. Abir Alharbi is a Professor of Computational Mathematics, specializing in artificial intelligence theory, at King Saud University. She earned her PhD from Florida Institute of Technology and later worked as a research fellow at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in the Center for the Study of Complex Systems. She subsequently joined UCL London for postdoctoral research and served as a research visitor in the Department of Mathematics at the Maxwell Institute, Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. She has published numerous research articles in well-known journals and is the author of three books in computational and applied mathematics. Alongside her academic career, Prof. Alharbi has developed extensive managerial expertise through executive certificates in Management and Leadership, Strategic Planning, and KPI Development. With more than twenty years of academic experience, she has held several leadership roles at King Saud University and led committees related to development, quality assurance, KPI performance, and institutional reputation. She is currently leading an initiative focused on monitoring and calculating the university's position in local and global rankings through data analysis, performance indicators, precise metrics, and computational tools, and has represented the university in international forums related to rankings, quality standards, and institutional reputation.
