Dr Adriana Vargas Martínez is the Director of Research Strategy at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she leads the implementation of the institution’s research framework to strengthen scientific excellence and global impact. She also coordinates the strategic collaboration between Tecnológico de Monterrey and MIT, advancing academic and research partnerships.

Previously, she served as Associate Dean of Professional Graduate Programs and Internationalization at the School of Engineering and Sciences and held leadership positions in the Department of Mechatronics. From 2022 to 2025, she led Ingenia Women in Engineering and Science, a national initiative promoting women’s participation and leadership in STEM.

Her research focuses on Educational Innovation, Automatic Control, Intelligent Systems, and Fault-Tolerant Control. She has authored more than 70 publications and is a Level I member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNI). She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences and completed postdoctoral research at Concordia University in Canada.
