Dr Ákos Kovács, PhD

Ákos Kovács has been working at Széchenyi István University since 2008.

Ákos began his career as a laboratory engineer, focusing on computer network operations and related teaching activities. He later served as an assistant lecturer, where his teaching and research activities focused on cloud-based systems and virtualization.

Since 2020, he has been Head of Operations at the university’s Digital Development Center, an organizational unit of around 100 professionals. In addition, he currently serves as an IT project manager at the university. Since 2025, as Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and HPC, his work has focused on coordinating university-wide IT, artificial intelligence, HPC, and technology development initiatives.
