Fernanda Llergo Bay currently serves as President (Rectora General) of Universidad Panamericana and IPADE Business School. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Letters. She has over 38 years of experience in the leadership of educational institutions, initially working in schools and educational centers in Mexico City.

Education

Fernanda Llergo Bay earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy from Universidad Panamericana. She also holds a Master’s degree in Government and Culture of Organizations from the University of Navarra, as well as a Master’s degree in Strategic Management and Innovation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Carlos III University of Madrid. She has completed Executive Education programs at IPADE Business School.

Professional Career

Dr. Fernanda Llergo is a member of the Executive Committee of Scholas Occurrentes, an international foundation based in Rome, Italy, which seeks to foster a Culture of Encounter and transform society into a more inclusive one through the improvement of education and the integration of communities.

She currently serves as President of the Board of the Mexican Federation of Private Higher Education Institutions (FIMPES). She is also a board member of the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES) and the Council of Private Universities and Affiliated Institutions (CUPRIA).

In 2005, she joined Universidad Panamericana, Aguascalientes campus, as Associate Director to the President and was later appointed Campus Vice President, a position she held until 2016. That same year, she was appointed General Vice President of the entire Panamerican System.

On November 19, 2020, the Governing Board of Universidad Panamericana and IPADE Business School appointed her as President (Rectora General) of the Panamerican System for a three-year term, a position to which she was subsequently reappointed for a second term.

She has been a regular contributor to the Mexican newspaper Excélsior since 2021.

Academic Activity

She is a Full Professor of Pedagogical Theory at the School of Pedagogy, Mexico City campus of Universidad Panamericana. She has also taught courses in Political Philosophy and Philosophical Anthropology. Her main research interests focus on the present and future of education.
