Professor Gulmira Bekmanova is the Rector of International Information Technology University (IITU), Kazakhstan. She holds a PhD in Computer Science and has over 20 years of experience in higher education, research, and university management.
Prior to her appointment as Rector in September 2026, she served as Vice-Rector for Digitalization and Chief Digital Officer at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, where she led university-wide digital transformation, AI integration, and the development of smart campus solutions.
Her research interests include artificial intelligence, natural language processing, intelligent information systems, and digital education. She has authored over 145 scientific publications and supervised six PhD graduates. She has also led nationally funded research projects and served as a member of Kazakhstan’s National Scientific Council for Information, Communication and Space Technologies.
Her professional focus is on advancing AI-driven education, digital transformation, international research collaboration, and innovation in higher education.
