Dr Janet Ilieva

Janet Ilieva is Founder and Director of Education Insight, a research consultancy specialising in international higher education.

Janet's work focuses on global student mobility, transnational education, university partnerships and policies for sustainable global engagement.

A former university lecturer in economics, Janet joined the British Council in 2004 to lead higher education research and market intelligence, before becoming Head of the HEFCE Observatory in 2013. Since founding Education Insight in 2015, she has advised universities, governments and international organisations across Europe and Asia.

Janet is a university trustee, an advisor to the Technical Committee for Transnational Education under the Philippine Commission on Higher Education and a former NAFSA Senior Fellow.
