Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at the American University of the Middle East (AUM), Yahya (Jean) Lakys received his first degree in electrical engineering from the Lebanese University in 2003, his master’s in telecommunications from the University of Rennes in 2004 and his PhD in electronics from the University of Bordeaux in 2009.
Before joining AUM, Dr Lakys worked at the Institut d’Électronique Fondamentale, University of Paris-Sud, on the design of spintronics-based integrated circuits, then at Atmel Corporation, where he worked on the design of radiation-hardened circuits for aerospace applications. Communication technologies and artificial intelligence are among his current research interests.
