Dr Ju Seong Lee

Dr Ju Seong Lee is Associate Professor in the Department of English Language Education at The Education University of Hong Kong and Vice President of AsiaTEFL. He holds a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. His research explores how informal digital learning and artificial intelligence can expand equitable access to English education, particularly in underserved communities in the Global South. Through partnerships with universities, schools, and industry, he translates research into teacher development and sustainable educational interventions, with a strong focus on Indonesia. His current work develops AI–human coaching approaches that support learners’ confidence, communication, and lifelong learning. He brings to the roundtable experience in international collaboration, educational leadership, and connecting research with practice to advance inclusive, purpose-driven educational change.
