Juan Alberto González Piñón is a strategic leader specializing in technology entrepreneurship, intangible asset management, and the commercialization of science-based innovations. He currently oversees the applied research strategy, intellectual property licensing, and entrepreneurship initiatives at Universidad Panamericana, where he previously served as Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and forged strong research and development alliances with multinational corporations like SIEMENS, BAYER, and Grupo BIMBO.
Throughout his career, he has generated significant commercial impact by leading the development of over 80 technology-based products and directly contributing to the creation of 42 tech startups, which achieved average revenues of MXN 30 million in their first two years. His influence extends across Latin America, having co-authored a technology incubation model adopted by 135 institutions across Mexico and South America during his tenure at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, as well as designing Mexico's national entrepreneurship model for upper-secondary education.
Academically, González Piñón holds a Ph.D. in Innovation from Universidad Anáhuac and a Master of Science in Commercialization from The University of Texas at Austin, supplemented by executive training at top institutions such as MIT and UC Berkeley.
