Dr. Meiram Begentayev is the Chairman of the Management Board and Rector of Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satbayev), Kazakhstan's leading engineering and technical university.
He holds a Doctor of Economic Sciences degree and is a Professor. He is President of the Kazakhstan Academy of Natural Sciences and a Full Member of the International Engineering Academy. His research covers mechanical engineering, economics, renewable energy and Earth sciences, and he has written more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and two monographs.
He was a Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan. There he contributed to more than 100 other bills. He has received several state awards, including the Order of Kurmet (2024).
