With an outstanding career spanning more than 30 years in the education sector and knowledge management, Dr. Milagros Morgan is the first woman to hold the highest academic position at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), an MBA from UPC, and a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. She has led the Academic and Research Vice Rectorate and, previously, the University Services Vice Rectorate, overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of UPC’s educational model and the processes that support student development, including Research, Educational Quality, Internationalization, Employability, Student Life, Sustainability and Social Responsibility, Degrees and International Agreements—with the University of Leeds (UoL) and the NCUK program—Knowledge Management (Library and University Press), and Digital and Online Learning. Through these responsibilities, she has developed a comprehensive perspective on the academic growth of the university community.
Dr. Morgan is also actively involved in various organizations and networks related to education, sustainability, and institutional development. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cámara de Comercio Peruano Británica (BRITCHAM), Vice President of Public Policy for UNESCO's Red de Rectoras y Rectores por la Sostenibilidad, and President of Metared TIC Peru. She also serves on the executive committee of the Grupo Compostela de Universidades for the 2026–2027 term, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Federación de Instituciones Privadas de Educación Superior del Perú (FIPES), sits on the board of Universia Peru, and serves as Second Vice President of the Asociación Cultural Peruano Británica.
