Dr. Ding is the Executive Vice President of National Taiwan University (NTU) and a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Animal Science and Technology. With a Ph.D. in Poultry Science from The Ohio State University, he has built an exceptional academic career that bridges animal nutrition, molecular regulation, smart agriculture, and biotechnology industry development. His pioneering research has earned him prestigious recognitions, including the Milton Sunde Award from the American Nutrition Society, the International Alumni Award from The Ohio State University, and multiple outstanding teaching and research honours from NTU.
In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Ding has held significant leadership roles within Taiwan’s higher education and government sectors. As Vice President for Academic Affairs at NTU, he championed innovative educational initiatives, establishing specialization-focused learning systems, enhancing digital platforms such as NTU COOL, and developing future classroom environments. His expertise also led to appointments as Acting CEO of BioHub Taiwan at the National Biotechnology Research Park, Deputy Executive Secretary on the Board of Science and Technology under Taiwan’s Executive Yuan, and Research Councillor for the Council of Agriculture. These roles underscore his influence on both national education policy and biotechnology advancement.
Currently, as Executive Vice President, Dr. Ding drives NTU’s strategic priorities in teaching and learning, sustainability, bilingual education, and international collaboration. He also serves as CEO of the National Taiwan University System, promoting partnerships among three leading universities to expand academic resources and opportunities for students. Through these efforts, Dr. Ding continues to shape NTU’s role as a global leader in higher education and research.
