Ziyang Hong is currently an Associate Professor at the Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen. He was previously a Research Assistant Professor (2024-2025) at the School of Data Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He received his PhD from Heriot-Watt University and Edinburgh Centre for Robotics, UK. He also worked as a research assistant in the EU Horizon 2020 Marine Robotics Project during his PhD, and a research intern at INRIA, France. Dr. Hong’s current research interests include underwater robotics, perception and localization in adverse weather conditions for autonomous robots and robot learning. His work has been published in top journals such as The International Journal of Robotics Research and Robotics and Automation Letters, as well as top conferences such as ICRA, RSS and IROS.
