Erica Gonzales is currently a research assistant at the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) where she supports research and policy work on the role of banks in the US financial system to support monetary policy and financial stability. Before the FRB, she was a research assistant at MDRC where she helped research education programs and policies that reduce student inequity using behavioral science. 

Erica graduated with a BS in Economics from Minerva University, where she had the privilege to live and study in six cities around the world. During her undergrad, she helped revamp her university's financial aid center, proposed suggestions to improve engagement with NASDAQ's entrepreneurial services in San Francisco, designed a marketing strategy for a period wellness startup in Hyderabad, and proposed new business models for a foundation in Buenos Aires. She is also a 2024 AEASP Scholar and a 2016 Global Citizen Year Fellow.

As a Filipina-American and aspiring economist, Erica is committed to increasing representation in the field of economics and hopes to pursue a PhD with interests in inclusive finance, small business, and labor economics research. Outside of her work and studies, Erica enjoys running, playing soccer, trying new foods, and attending local community events.
