Dean Joachim Lutz is a distinguished leader with extensive experience in both academia and corporate governance. He serves as Dean and President of Mannheim Business School. In this role, he brings together academic leadership and executive experience, contributing to the school’s international development and its collaboration with the business community.
Prior to his academic leadership, Lutz built a successful executive career in the corporate sector. From 2015 to 2020, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive Board of CropEnergies AG, following nearly a decade as Chief Financial Officer (2006–2015). Earlier in his career, Lutz held senior positions at Deutsche Bank AG and Südzucker AG, gaining broad expertise in finance, strategy, and international management.
Dean Lutz studied Business Administration at the University of Mannheim, where he earned the degree “Diplom-Kaufmann”. His academic background, together with many years of executive experience, reflects his strong connection to both higher education and corporate practice.
