Lorenzo Wong has served as Vice-Rector of Academic Management and University Extension at Universidad Científica del Sur (Peru) since joining the university in 2016. In this role, he leads transversal academic areas including internationalization, employability and entrepreneurship, academic innovation, curricular management, faculty management and evaluation, and laboratory management, among others.
Prior to his academic career, Mr. Wong held local and international management positions in marketing, business development, and capital markets at organizations including Procter & Gamble Peru/Bolivia, Quimica Suiza (a multi-Latin company), Supermercados Wong, Gold's Gym Peru, Agroindustrial Paramonga, and Intercapital SAB, in addition to an internship at Novartis AG in Basel, Switzerland.
Over more than 30 years of professional experience, Mr. Wong has also served as a part-time professor at other higher education institutions in Peru, including CENTRUM and Universidad San Martín de Porres. He is a current active member of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Peru and of the MBA Club Peru (Ivy League), and a former President of the IMD Alumni Club in Peru.
Mr. Wong holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Universidad del Pacífico in Peru, where he graduated fifth in his class. He also holds an MBA from IMD in Switzerland, a QS World-ranked business school, and is currently completing his Ph.D. in Education at Universidad Científica del Sur.
