Prof Chi-Hung Lin

Prof. Chi-Hung Lin is President of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU). A physician-scientist and academic leader, he previously served as Vice President of the University System of Taiwan, Professor of Biotechnology at NCTU, and Director of NCTU’s Smart Healthcare Promotion Center. From 2010 to 2018, as Health Commissioner for Taipei and New Taipei, he led initiatives in food-ingredient traceability, universal newborn hearing screening, high myopia prevention, pit-and-fissure sealants, and disability prevention programs for older adults. Earlier, at NYMU, he held senior positions, including Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Director of major research centers, and Vice President for International Affairs, and headed Education and Research at Taipei City Hospital. He earned an MD from National Yang Ming Medical College and a PhD in Biology from Yale University. His expertise spans microscopy, genomics, cell biology, biophotonics, and public-health policy, with honors from Yale, Taiwan’s NSC, and the Executive Yuan.
