Prof. Zhu is currently the Deputy Dean of the College of Chemical Engineering and the Carbon Neutrality Innovation Research Center at Nanjing Tech University (NanjingTech). Before joining NanjingTech, he held the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Akron. He has an extensive research portfolio, contributing over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles and four book chapters. His accolades include the Young Leader Development Award from the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society in 2015, the Early Career Award from the Polymer Processing Society in 2017, and the Early Career Investigator Award from the Electrochemical Society in 2017. He is actively involved in educating the next generation of engineers, emphasizing the interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. His commitment to developing skilled professionals is evident in his mentorship programs and initiatives that inspire students to address global challenges.
