Dr. Weidong Yu, Professor and Dean of School of Atmospheric Sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University, China. He is interested in identifying the critical role of ocean in shaping the regional and global climate. Among many interesting topics, he particularly focuses on the monsoon-ocean interaction over the Indo-Pacific Oceans. He has been working extensively with universities, institutions and stakeholders in the region and world, such as CLIVAR, UNESCO/IOC, WMO, APEC, etc., to promote the cooperation on ocean and climate research and education.
