Prof Xing Feng

Prof. Xing Feng is the President of Jinan University and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is also the Chair of the National Technical Committee for Concrete Standardization. From September 1981 to September 1992, he studied and earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at Tsinghua University. His major previous positions include the Vice President of Shenzhen University, the Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and the Vice President of Guangzhou University.

His research focuses on high-performance concrete, the durability of concrete structures, and the resource utilization of construction solid waste. He has led over 20 major research projects, including National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars projects, key National Natural Science Foundation projects, major international cooperation projects, National Key Research and Development Program projects, and National 973 Program projects. He has served as the chief expert or the key contributor in the development of 13 national, industrial, and local standards, published 6 academic monographs and authored over 700 journal papers (including more than 470 indexed by SCI), with over 10,000 SCI citations and an H-index of 56. He has consistently been included in Stanford University’s list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists for lifelong impact. He holds 147 authorized invention patents, including 14 in Europe and the United States.

He is the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and a Leading Talent in Engineering of the National “Ten Thousand Talents Program” in China. He has received two second prizes of the National Technology Invention Award, three first prizes at the provincial level, as well as two second prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award (ranking first and second among contributors respectively).
