Semira Alhadi is an educator, counselor, trainer, and development professional with extensive experience in higher education, student guidance, and program leadership. She holds a Master of Education in Educational Guidance and Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Psychology.

Over the course of her career, Semira has served as a lecturer at Addis Ababa University, Kotebe Teacher’s College, Hayat Medical College, and Bits Information Systems College, where she has taught courses in educational psychology, counseling, and related fields. Her work focuses on student development, life skills education, mentorship, and the promotion of academic success.

In addition to her academic roles, Semira has worked as a Guidance Counseling Officer at Kotebe Teacher’s College, Sandford International School, and NIA Child and Family Center, providing counseling services, career guidance, and psychosocial support to students and families. She has also designed and facilitated numerous life skills and mental health awareness programs.

Semira has held leadership positions in the development sector, including serving as Deputy Director for Programs at the Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Association (CCRDA), where she managed educational and community development initiatives and collaborated with diverse stakeholders to strengthen program impact.

Her experience also includes serving as an EducationUSA Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, where she guided students through the U.S. university application process, scholarship opportunities, and international education pathways.

A committed advocate for education and community development, Semira serves on the boards of several organizations, including Birhan Lehitsanat and the Ethiopian Center for Ethics, and has served as Board Chair of FAWE Ethiopia Chapter and Dialogue Ethiopia. She is also the author of two parenting booklets that provide practical guidance for supporting children at the primary and secondary school levels.

Through her teaching, counseling, leadership, and advocacy work, Semira continues to empower young people, strengthen educational institutions, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
