Terrence Gee is Chief Information Officer at Rice University, where he leads Technology Solutions & Services and helps shape the university’s use of technology to advance Rice’s mission and institutional effectiveness.
Over a 40-year career spanning consulting, entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, and higher education, Terrence has focused on connecting technology strategy to measurable outcomes. Today, his focus is on positioning the university for a rapidly changing technology landscape: shaping technology and AI strategy, building the institutional capabilities required to put emerging technologies to work, and developing strategic partnerships that can accelerate Rice’s ambitions. He is particularly interested in how Rice moves beyond AI experimentation to responsibly embed it into the ways people teach, learn, discover, engage, and enable.
