April Mei Ling Porteous is the Founder of GENBLOX, a company piloting circular solutions in Phuket, Thailand, on a mission to turn waste into value. GENBLOX started with a simple question: what if the things we throw away could become the building blocks of something new?
Through developing useful products from discarded plastics and textiles, alongside hands-on spaces for learning and experimentation, GENBLOX aims to make sustainability practical, creative and accessible.
With an initial focus on Phuket’s hospitality industry, GENBLOX brings together businesses, educators and technology partners to tackle real-world waste challenges and turn ideas into viable solutions.
April brings over 15 years of experience in financial technology, data, regulatory compliance and business development across Asia-Pacific. She believes innovation thrives when people from different industries come together, and when the next generation has space to experiment, collaborate and build.
