Prof. Dr. Almazbek Beishenaliev is Founder and Director of the Regional Institute of Central Asia, a research-based think tank in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. He is a former Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, and Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He also served as Head of the Education, Culture and Sports Department in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prof. Beishenaliev has held senior academic positions as Visiting Scholar and Professor at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Northern Iowa, Vice Chancellor of Vistula University in Poland, and Vice Rector of International Ala-Too University.

In 2022, at the UN General Assembly, he initiated the concept of Planetary Health in Education, advocating for its integration into education and sustainable development.

He holds two PhDs and has authored over 60 national and 10 international publications and six monographs. He is a recipient of numerous national and international awards and is a devoted family man and father of three sons and one daughter.
