Dr. Blandina Phillip Kisawike is the Director of Quality Assurance at the University of Iringa, Tanzania. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of Hull, United Kingdom, and has extensive experience in higher education, research, and academic leadership.
Dr. Kisawike is a Senior Lecturer with a distinguished career in teaching, research, and university administration. Her academic expertise spans Research Methods, Marketing, Management, and International Business. Over the years, she has taught and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students, contributing significantly to the development of academic programmes and the enhancement of teaching and learning practices.
As Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Kisawike provides strategic leadership in promoting academic excellence and institutional effectiveness. She oversees quality assurance processes, supports curriculum development and review, coordinates institutional self-assessment and accreditation activities, and facilitates compliance with national and international quality standards in higher education.
In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Dr. Kisawike actively facilitates academic and professional development programmes for lecturers, supervises postgraduate students, and contributes to research capacity building within the University. She has guided numerous postgraduate research projects and continues to mentor emerging scholars in the areas of research design, academic writing, and publication.
Dr. Kisawike has actively participated in numerous academic conferences, workshops, and collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening higher education systems and promoting innovation in teaching, learning, and research. Most recently, she participated in a Postgraduate Supervision Training Programme facilitated by the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), which focused on enhancing the quality of postgraduate supervision, research mentorship, and scholarly productivity within higher learning institutions.
Through her commitment to academic excellence, quality enhancement, and professional development, Dr. Kisawike continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of higher education in Tanzania and beyond.
