Ianis G. Matsoukas is a senior higher-education strategist and academic leader with a PhD from the University of Warwick and post-doctoral research at Cornell University, ETH Zürich, and the University of Warwick.

With a scientific foundation in biomedical sciences and experience as an executive and non-executive director in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, Ianis brings a rare combination of academic depth, industry insight, and institutional leadership.

He currently serves at University of Keele – Greece as Deputy Principal (Strategic Projects & Reputation Management) and member of the Academic Council (Governing Body), and at Metropolitan College Greece — Europe’s largest UK Transnational Education (TNE) provider and among the largest globally — in the role of Deputy Principal (Strategic Projects & Reputation Management). In these roles, he leads strategic development, institutional architecture, and reputation strategy, including the establishment of Keele University’s new European campus and Medical School.

Ianis has led major UK–EU academic partnerships, executive-education collaborations with UCL and Warwick Business School, and Europe-first TNE initiatives in medical and digital education. He is a frequent speaker at international higher-education fora, focusing on internationalisation policy, TNE, global partnerships, and institutional competitiveness.
