Dr. Ir. Wayan Koster, M.M. serves as the Governor of Bali, having entered his second term in February 2025 after previously leading the province from 2018 to 2023. Born in Buleleng in 1962, he graduated with a degree in Mathematics from the prestigious Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) before completing his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Jakarta.
Before his governorship, Koster built a distinguished legislative career, serving three consecutive terms as a Member of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR-RI) from 2004 to 2018, where he focused on education, culture, tourism, and infrastructure.
As a prominent keynote speaker at international forums—including the 5th International Conference on Digital Humanities and MASTIC 2026—Governor Koster actively advocates for Bali's sustainable future. His leadership vision centers on green energy resilience, digital transformation, and smart infrastructure, seamlessly balancing modern development with the preservation of Bali's rich cultural heritage and traditional values.
