Jean-Marc Ogier was appointed General Director of CESI in January 2025, following an exemplary academic and scientific career.

Pofessor of computer science, Jen-Marc holds a doctorate from the University of Rouen (1994) and is accredited to supervise research (2000). He has been decorated by the French Government with the French Academic Palms, awarded the National Order of Merit and, in 2024, the Legion of Honor.

For more than 25 years, Jean-Marc Ogier has combined research, innovation, and leadership. After teaching at Rennes I and Rouen, he joined the University of La Rochelle in 2001, where he was head of the L3i laboratory, dedicated to artificial vision and data science. Elected President of the university in 2016 and re-elected in 2021, he led strategic transformation focused on ecological, digital, and societal transitions, as well as on the personalization of student academic programs.

Internationally, he has chaired EU-CONEXUS, a European university bringing together nine universities, 75,000 students, and 8,000 staff, as well as several scientific committees of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). His commitment extends to promoting research and bringing laboratories and businesses closer together, notably through the Valconum association.

A renowned researcher, he has published numerous works on pattern recognition and image analysis, and has led national programs on the promotion of digital technology and the transformation of higher education.

At the helm of CESI, Jean-Marc Ogier continues to drive educational and scientific innovation: strengthening the school's international reputation, developing its research activities, consolidating links with businesses, and affirming its leading role in apprenticeship training in French higher education.
