Dr. Jingwen Mu is the Director of Institutional Research and Strategic Planning at Hong Kong Baptist University, spearheading the integration of business intelligence and analytics to advance institutional strategy and enhance organisational excellence. A recognised expert in higher education data, university rankings, and benchmarking, she has designed and led transformative evaluation initiatives for institutions worldwide. Her advisory work includes long-standing collaborations with the World Bank, where she has contributed to the Sub-Saharan Africa Benchmarking Initiative (2015-present) and the Saudi Arabia Education Program (2023-present). She is also a member of the QS Global Rankings Advisory Board. Prior to her current role, Dr. Mu served as the Senior Global Strategy Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and Strategic Planning Manager at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, where she pioneered the Auckland Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) mapping initiative to align institutional priorities with global sustainability agendas. Earlier in her career, she led the consulting division at ShanghaiRanking Consultancy (2015- 2018), architecting its global consulting frameworks and overseeing high-impact initiatives for universities across China, Asia, and beyond. Her distinctive work has positioned her as a trusted voice in bridging data-driven insights with institutional strategy in higher education.
