Dr. Mebrahtu Hishe Gidey is an Assistant Professor of Plant Biology and Biodiversity Management at Adigrat University, Ethiopia, where he also serves as Director of Research, International Relations, and Partnership. He holds a PhD in Plant Biodiversity Management and has extensive academic and research experience in higher education, biodiversity conservation, and institutional development.
His work focuses on strengthening research systems, promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable ecosystem management, and advancing international collaboration and institutional partnerships. He has contributed to academic leadership and university transformation initiatives, with particular emphasis on research capacity building, innovation, and community-engaged scholarship.
Dr. Mebrahtu Hishe is actively involved in regional and international collaboration efforts aimed at enhancing the visibility and impact of Ethiopian higher education institutions. His professional interests include plant biodiversity, ecological resilience, conservation science, and the role of universities in sustainable development.
