Dr. Hsiao Wei Tan is Director of the Centre for Rankings, Impact and Analytics at Sunway University, Malaysia. She leads the University’s work in global rankings, institutional analytics, reputation, and strategic positioning.
With more than a decade of experience in higher education strategy, research management and institutional performance, she has worked extensively on data-driven planning, rankings strategy and international visibility. Prior to joining Sunway University, she held several research management and strategy roles at Universiti Malaya.
Her work focuses on using rankings not simply as a measure of institutional performance, but as a strategic tool to identify strengths and gaps, inform decision-making, and strengthen institutional positioning and global reputation.
