Eng Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud is an esteemed academic professional with over 15 years of management experience in the academic sector.

Mohamed currently serves as the President of Jamhuriya University of Science and Technology (JUST), one of the leading higher education institutions in Mogadishu, Somalia.

Mohamed holds a Master of Business Administration from Open University Malaysia, where he graduated with distinction, and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Jordan University of Science & Technology. His leadership roles at JUST have included Vice-President Academic, Dean of the Faculty of Economics & Management, and VP of Admin & Finance. His leadership extends beyond JUST as he served a board member for Somali Research and Education Network (SomaliREN).

Mohamed is dedicated to enhancing educational policies and programs and fostering innovation and excellence in higher education in Somalia; he is also passionate about educational leadership, education technology, and artificial intelligence in education.

He is passionate about leveraging digital transformation and strategic partnerships to rebuild Somalia’s higher education ecosystem. He regularly represents Somalia in international forums and has been actively involved in regional and global higher education networks.

He regularly represents Somalia in international higher education forums and actively contributes to regional and global academic networks. His work focuses on strengthening Somalia’s higher education ecosystem through strategic partnerships, leadership development, human capital investment, and investing in AI for higher education.
