Laura Hervert-Escobar is the director of the Scientometrics Office in the Vice Presidency for Research at Tecnológico de Monterrey. She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Ph.D. in Systems and Engineering Management from Texas Tech University. She is a faculty member of the Graduate Program in Computer Science and is affiliated with the Research Group in Data Science and Optimization.
Her research includes, but is not limited to, the development, analysis, and implementation of metaheuristic techniques to solve complex real-world combinatorial problems with multiple objectives. Her professional experience includes the development and implementation of various real-world models, such as pricing models for convenience stores, product analysis for retail sales strategies, manufacturing process scheduling, among others. Her current research focuses on the use of Data Science applied to research performance, sports forecasting, and analysis.
