Merlyn Schultz is the U.S. Consulate General Guadalajara Public Affairs Officer. Previously, she served as the Embassy Lima Spokesperson, and as a Watch Officer in the State Department Operations Center helping leaders stay informed and handle crises around the world. She served as the Cultural Affairs Officer in Costa Rica and Cameroon, and began her foreign service career as a Consular officer in Mexico. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a Master's in Military Studies from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College. She is fluent in Spanish. Merlyn lives in Guadalajara with her spouse and two children.
