Prof. Chuang Wang is Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the United States and Chair Professor of Educational Research and Evaluation at the Academy of Educational Development and Innovation of the Educational University of Hong Kong in China.
He has received six U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) grants and served as an independent evaluator for four other federally funded research grants from the U.S. Department of Education. His expertise includes quantitative research methods, English language learner’s self-efficacy beliefs, self-regulated learning strategies, and authentic leadership in schools. His instrument, Questionnaire of English Self-Efficacy, has been translated into multiple languages and used widely in Asia, Europe, and North America. He has published 8 books, 22 book chapters, and over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles in highly reputable journals. He was listed as one of the world masters in English language education by China Daily and top 2% scientists worldwide by Stanford University. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Educational Research & Development Journal and the Journal of Applied Educational and Policy Research. He is currently Associate Editor of Psychology in the Schools and Sage Open.
