Professor Dr. Lai is a senior higher education leader with over 20 years of experience in institutional strategy, strategic academic management, governance, quality assurance, and global engagement. She has held executive leadership roles across large education groups and not-for-profit institutions, leading system-wide transformation in academic quality, curriculum innovation, and internationalization.
Her leadership focuses on internationalization, transnational education, and skills-oriented curriculum strategy, with particular emphasis on sustainable models of student mobility, talent circulation, and cross-border academic collaboration. She has extensive experience in aligning international learning frameworks, academic standards, and qualification pathways to meet the evolving demands of the global higher education landscape.
Professor Dr. Lai actively contributes to discussions on capacity building, including joint education models, hybrid delivery, and regional academic cooperation. A founding member of the Asian Society for Engineering Education (AsiaSEE), she has served as lecturer, dean, pro-vice chancellor, and senior advisor to university executive leadership, supporting the development of internationally connected and future-focused higher education systems.
