Professor Pascale Quester is the Vice-Chancellor and President of Swinburne University of Technology, one of Australia’s leading research and innovation-led institutions. She commenced her tenure in August 2020 and has since been reappointed for a second term, extending her leadership through 2030. Under her guidance, Swinburne continues to strengthen its global standing, drive strategic initiatives and expand work-integrated learning and research impact.
Before joining Swinburne, Professor Quester served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and President (Academic) at the University of Adelaide, where she held several senior leadership roles, including Executive Dean and Professor of Marketing. Her extensive academic career is marked by deep expertise in consumer behaviour and marketing communications.
Professor Quester holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from France, a Master of Arts in Marketing from Ohio State University (USA) and a PhD from Massey University (New Zealand). She is a prolific researcher and has held visiting professorial appointments at prominent institutions such as La Sorbonne, Paris II, ESSEC Business School and the University of Nancy in France.
Her contributions to higher education have been recognised internationally. In 2023 she received the Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, one of France’s highest honours, and earlier was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite. She is also a Distinguished Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy.
