Dr. Peng Wang is Chair Professor and the Founding Director of the Institute of Carbon Neutrality and Green Development at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in China. He serves as a judge for the XPRIZE Water Scarcity, a $119 million, five-year global competition aimed at expanding access to clean water. Additionally, he was the Head of Jury for the 2025 Global Prize for Innovation in Water (GPIW).

Dr. Wang is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and has been recognized as a Clarivate “Highly Cited Researcher” (2023/2025). Some of his accolades include the Agilent ACT-UR Award (2025), the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Water Award (3rd cycle) (2023), the Zijin Quanxing Distinguished Alumni Award from Nanjing University (2021), the 9th Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (2021), and the Frontier Research Award from the Chinese-American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science (CAPEES) in 2020.
