Prof Peng Wang

Dr. Peng Wang is Chair Professor and the Founding Director of the Institute of Carbon Neutrality and Green Development at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in China. He serves as a judge for the XPRIZE Water Scarcity, a $119 million, five-year global competition aimed at expanding access to clean water. Additionally, he was the Head of Jury for the 2025 Global Prize for Innovation in Water (GPIW).

Dr. Wang is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and has been recognized as a Clarivate “Highly Cited Researcher” (2023/2025). Some of his accolades include the Agilent ACT-UR Award (2025), the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Water Award (3rd cycle) (2023), the Zijin Quanxing Distinguished Alumni Award from Nanjing University (2021), the 9^th Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (2021), and the Frontier Research Award from the Chinese-American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science (CAPEES) in 2020.
