Rongyu Li

As Vice-President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at The University of Queensland (UQ), Rongyu reports to the President and Vice-Chancellor and works with the Senior Executive to provide effective leadership and management. He leads UQ’s Global Strategy, expanding the quality and scale of engagement with higher education partners, industry and government, and supporting domestic and international prospective students, international development and entrepreneurship communities. Prior to joining UQ, Rongyu held several senior international education leadership roles across Australia and New Zealand. He is known as a visionary, entrepreneurial and innovative leader with a strong track record in organisational transformation, capability building and high-performing teams. Rongyu is Chair (for a second term) and an Executive member (2021–2026) of Universities Australia’s DVCI/PVCI Committee, and an Advisory Board member of Asia Society Australia and the Australia-Indonesia Centre.
