Your professional journey

I bring over 15 years of professional experience, primarily in international higher education. I began my career in the general insurance sector before transitioning into international student recruitment, where I have continued to grow my expertise in student engagement, university partnerships, and recruitment strategy.

My career journey has included experience across insurance, biotechnology, banking, executive education, and higher education. These diverse roles strengthened my skills in relationship management, operations, sales, and client engagement before I entered international education through Eruditus Executive Education, representing globally recognised institutions such as INSEAD, Harvard, Columbia, and MIT Sloan.

I later joined the University of Louisville College of Business, initially as an India Advisor before progressing to Regional Recruitment Manager – South Asia. Today, I continue supporting international student recruitment and managing strategic engagement across the region.

Your local market expertise

The Indian market is highly competitive and heavily influenced by multiple stakeholders, including universities, agents, colleges, peers, and families. Students are increasingly focused on global brand recognition, intellectual capital, post-study work opportunities, and networking potential when choosing study destinations.

Students typically begin their research through education fairs, university websites, rankings, social media, and online searches, while also relying heavily on guidance from families, peers, colleges, and education agents. Although this creates strong awareness of international opportunities, it can also lead to information overload and conflicting advice, making the decision-making process more complex.

As a result, students often require personalised guidance to navigate their options and align their final decisions with their long-term academic and career goals.

Understanding students

Students are primarily motivated by global brand value, access to strong intellectual capital, post-study work opportunities, and the ability to build international professional networks.

Their decisions are influenced not only by personal research, but also by the recommendations of agents, institutions, peers, and family members, making trusted guidance especially important throughout the recruitment process.

Personal strengths

Beyond professional expertise, I bring strong vision, adaptability, accountability, and a dedicated work ethic to my role. I am also highly collaborative, which helps me work effectively with students, families, university partners, and other stakeholders.

With over a decade of experience in higher education, I have developed a strong understanding of the international study journey and the ability to empathise with both students and their families. My strengths in listening, communication, and relationship-building allow me to guide students toward academic pathways that align with their long-term aspirations.

My professional experiences, combined with first-hand exposure to campus life in the United States, enable me to provide practical, experience-based guidance that supports both students and university partners effectively.

Purpose and motivation

What I enjoy most is engaging with students from diverse backgrounds, understanding their aspirations, and helping them navigate important decisions about their future. Being part of a student’s transformational journey is incredibly rewarding.

One particularly memorable experience involved supporting a student pursuing an MS in Business Analytics at the University of Louisville. Through detailed discussions around programme fit and career goals, I was able to guide him through the decision-making process. He later secured a graduate assistantship and successfully launched his career as a Data Scientist in the United States.

What made this journey especially meaningful was seeing him later support prospective students through webinars and mentoring, creating a lasting impact beyond his own success story.

Staying current and credible

I stay informed about higher education trends through industry news, webinars, university updates, LinkedIn, professional networks, and newsletters such as The Chronicle of Higher Education. I also regularly research competing programmes and compare curricula across universities in the United States.

Continuous engagement with university representatives, event organisers, and professional communities helps me stay aligned with evolving market trends, student expectations, and best practices in international recruitment.

Personal dimension

Outside of work, I enjoy creative activities such as drawing, painting, and making handicrafts, particularly projects that add a personal touch to my home environment.

These creative interests have strengthened qualities such as patience, attention to detail, and personalised thinking, all of which influence how I support students. I approach my work with empathy, creativity, and a strong focus on building meaningful, trust-based relationships while helping students identify the right opportunities for their future.
