How National Research University "TIIAME" moved beyond spreadsheets and individual emails to create a more centralised, convenient process for reputation management.
“Of course, I recommend QS Reputation Manager. [It is] very useful and convenient.”
Bakhadir Mirzaev, Rector, National Research University "TIIAME"

The challenge: Moving beyond fragmented contact management
National Research University "TIIAME" is focused on strengthening its reputation through education, research and international cooperation. Building and maintaining relationships with academic and employer contacts is central to that work, particularly as these stakeholders help shape institutional reputation and visibility.
Before adopting QS Reputation Manager, the university collected contacts in Excel files and emailed each person separately. It also needed to compile and provide its academic and employer contacts to QS for QS World University Rankings data collection. This made contact management more fragmented, increased the risk of data duplication and placed additional administrative demands on the institution.
The solution: A central platform for reputation management
The university introduced QS Reputation Manager, QS's dedicated platform for managing academic and employer contacts that support institutional reputation activities. The platform enables institutions to centralise contact information, maintain a single source of truth for stakeholder data and simplify the sharing of relevant information with QS.
By keeping contacts within the platform, the university created a more centralised process and made the relevant information available to QS specialists without having to prepare and send contact lists each time.
“The contacts included in QS Reputation Manager can be retrieved independently by QS specialists.”
The impact: A simpler and more accessible process
QS Reputation Manager helped the university replace a process based on separate spreadsheets, individual emails and repeated contact submissions with a more efficient and accessible approach to managing academic and employer relationships.
With contact information held in a central system, the institution reduced manual administration and made it easier to maintain the stakeholder data that supports its reputation management activities. At the same time, QS specialists could access the information they needed directly through the platform.
For Rector Bakhadir Mirzaev, effective reputation management also depends on relationships. He emphasised the importance of continually building friendly relationships with new employers and academic contacts, an activity supported by a well-maintained and accessible contact database.
Looking ahead: Bringing more activity into one place
The university hopes to make greater use of QS Reputation Manager as the platform develops. Its longer-term ambition is to manage more of the work associated with reputation-building, stakeholder engagement and international rankings participation within a single platform.
“I hope that when QS Reputation Manager is expanded, we will be able to make the most of all [its] possibilities.”
