Welcome message from UNSW Sydney
Welcome to the QS India Summit 2027.
UNSW Sydney is proud to sponsor this gathering of higher education leaders, researchers, policymakers and partners from India and around the world. The Summit contributes to India’s effective development of higher education and to the importance of universities in research, innovation, skills cultivation and national progress.
For UNSW, our participation reflects a long, deep and growing relationship to India and to the wider Asia-Pacific region. In August 2026, we opened UNSW Bengaluru. This was an important step in a partnership with India that has been built over many years through education, research, institutional co-operation and the many students, alumni and colleagues who connect our communities.
We see enormous value in universities working across borders. Many of the challenges facing our societies, from technological change to sustainability and economic transformation, require collaboration across institutions, sectors and countries. India’s scale, ambition and rapidly developing innovation ecosystem make it an especially important partner in this work.
The theme of this year’s Summit, “Scaling the Next Frontier: The Innovation Advantage”, speaks directly to the opportunity before us. Universities have a vital role in developing talent, advancing research and creating the partnerships that allow knowledge to have real economic and social impact.
I encourage all participants to make the most of the conversations and connections that this Summit will create. I hope it leads to new ideas, stronger partnerships and enduring collaboration across India, Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific.
On behalf of UNSW Sydney, I warmly welcome you to Goa and wish you a rewarding and productive Summit.
