QS Arab Region University Rankings 2027 results and analysis
King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia retains first place in the QS World University Rankings: Arab Region 2027, followed by Khalifa University, which rises one position to second. Qatar University completes the top three, moving down one place from 2026.

This year's ranking sees KFUPM retain first place for the fourth edition in a row, and achieving an overall score of 100. Khalifa University moves ahead of Qatar University into second place, while King Saud University and United Arab Emirates University retain fourth and fifth respectively.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Sultan Qaboos University rises from eighth to seventh, while Abu Dhabi University breaks into the top 10 and climbs two places to ninth. King Abdulaziz University moves from seventh to eighth, while the University of Jordan remains in tenth place.

Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is home to the region's top-ranked university, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), which retains first place in 2027.
King Saud University also maintains its position in fourth, while King Abdulaziz University ranks eighth, down one place from 2026.
Beyond the top 10, King Faisal University makes a notable improvement, climbing nine places to 17th.
United Arab Emirates
The UAE has three universities in the top 10, led by Khalifa University, which rises one place to second, overtaking Qatar University.
United Arab Emirates University retains fifth place, while Abu Dhabi University climbs two positions to ninth, entering the top 10.
Qatar
Qatar University remains among the region's top three universities, ranking third in 2027 after moving down one position.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University also improves its position, rising six places from 29th to 23rd.
Lebanon
The American University of Beirut is Lebanon's highest-ranked university, placing sixth in the Arab Region.
Lebanese American University also makes gains, climbing four positions from 24th to 20th.
Oman
Sultan Qaboos University rises one place to seventh, maintaining its position among the region's top 10 universities.
Dhofar University records a notable improvement further down the rankings, climbing 22 places from 75th to 53rd.
Jordan
The University of Jordan retains tenth place in the 2027 rankings.
Al-Ahliyya Amman University also improves its position, rising six places from 32nd to 26th.
